The plaque unveiling ceremony for the first science
base of land and resources of Hainan unveiled

　　On September 28, 2009, Haikou Volcano Cluster Global Geopark is so crowded. For the plaque unveiling ceremony for the first science base of land and resources of Hainan Province was held in the Geopark, marking that the geological and science education base in our province was launched officially. On the ceremony, people not only have a good view of the crater park, but also have a lively popular science education. Wang Yeqiao, Deputy Director-General of the Land Resources and Environment Department of Hainan province, gave an important lecture. He stated that geological and science education work is an important mission for geological science with the establishment of science base of land and resources aiming to spread knowledge and helping people to know the numerous and complicated natural phenomena, which plays an important role in strengthening the socialist cultural and ideological progress and promoting the construction of Hainan International Tourism Island. Haikou Volcano Cluster Global Geopark is listed as first batch national science base of land and resources, which is a great event to promote Haikou City brand and enrich tourism resources of Hainan, furthermore, to advance the protection of geological resources and achieve universal education of geological science. After the unveiled ceremony, leaders, guests and 60 primary and middle school students attended the science exhibition of volcano and listened lecture on scientific knowledge of volcano.
